Intel Core i9-11900K Rocket Lake-S CPU tops single-core PassMark ranking – KitGuru

It looks like we have a new single-core performance champion in PassMark’s ranking. Although it hasn’t released yet, the Intel Core i9-11900K already made its way up to the top of the chart with a score of 3764 points alongside the Core 17-11700K in second-place, which scored 3548 points.
These two upcoming processors make use of the Cypress Cove core architecture for increased IPC. Both processors feature 8x cores and 16x threads, but the Core i9 has higher operating frequencies, reaching up to 5.3GHz through Thermal Velocity Boost.
As seen in the PassMark CPU Mark Single Thread Performance chart, the Core i7 result is just enough to put it above the highest-rated AMD processor on PassMark, which is the Ryzen 7 5800X with 3514 points. The difference between both is about 1%, but when compared to the Core i9-11900K, the difference between AMD and Intel’s best scorers increases to 7%. ....
