The SA Human Rights Commission has found that the department of health’s handling of the Enyobeni Tavern tragedy where 21 young people, including minors, died nearly two years ago has resulted in violations of the right to dignity of the victims’ families.
The commission released an extensive report on its findings around the 2022 calamity that saw 21 patrons aged between 14 and 20 lose their lives while celebrating the completion of their exams.
