Dialect least preferred medium of instruction for Grades 1-3
(PNA photo by Gil Calinga) MANILA - A language spoken in a particular region is the least preferred medium of instruction for Grades 1 to 3, the results of a Pulse Asia survey showed. The survey, conducted from Sept. 17 to 21 last year, asked 1,200 respondents what language should be used as the primary mode of instruction for Grades 1 to 3 students. Only 38 percent picked the dialect in their region, while Filipino was the most preferred (88 percent), followed by English (71 percent).
