GOVERMENT COMMISSIONS MARIA MOISE HEALTH AND WELLNESS CENTRE
It was an elated Nurse Maria Moise who cut the ribbon to officially open the new Health and Wellness Centre in Bellevue Chopin, named in her honour, on Wednesday, March 3, 2021.
The Maria Moise Health and Wellness Centre is the latest in a series of new primary health care facilities to be officially commissioned and opened to the public. In an aim to provide easy access to health services for all sections of the community from the most vulnerable upwards, the Government has constructed twelve health and wellness centres through funding from the Citizenship By Investment Programme.

Prime Minister of Dominica, Honourable Roosevelt Skerrit took his first dose of the Oxford AstraZeneca Vaccine on Tuesday, February 24 2021.
This as the Government of Dominica through the Ministry of Health, Wellness and New Health Investments continues the roll-out of the Covid-19 vaccine as Dominica attempts to build immunity against the Covid-19 disease.
Prime Minister Skerrit encouraged citizens to put aside the fears caused by baseless conspiracy theories that are currently circulating. He stated that citizens should use the opportunity for vaccine as it is for their own protection and the protection of their families.

Dr. William Dexter James has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Dominica China Friendship Hospital.
Dr. James, who is a national of Trinidad and Tobago, is a graduate of the University of the West Indies and Walden University. He holds a PhD in Health Sector Reform from the University of Bangor, Wales United Kingdom.
He has been described as a highly skilled Caribbean professional with considerable knowledge, experience and expertise in the areas of Hospital Administration, Policy Planning and Analysis, Health Sector Reform, Financial Management, Strategic Management and Organizational Change among other areas,
