Hickory City Council met in regular session Tuesday night (April 20). Minutes, second readings, and consent agenda were all approved. A voluntary contiguous annexation of property owned by Lifestyle Investment Company on Cloninger Mill Road was approved by council following a public hearing.
City Manager Warren Wood presented a video of the Hickory Metro Convention Center along with a design concept from Scott Mitchell Design Architect. Council unanimously approved this item.
A Special presentation was given by Library Assistant Deana Jones from the Ridgeview Branch Library. The presentation was about her selection to join the Association for Rural and Small Libraries Outstanding in Their Field Institute. In addition, a presentation of the City’s new Litter Reduction Program (Litter Quitter) was given by the Community Appearance Commission Chair Charlie ....
