Toronto City Council approves five-stop SmartTrack stations plan
Last Updated Wednesday, February 3, 2021 10:17AM EST Toronto City Council has formally approved a scaled-back version of Mayor John Tory's SmartTrack stations plan. The five stop plan will cost an estimated $1.463 billion and is expected to be completed by 2026. While Tory's initial SmartTrack plan imagined 22 new rapid stops along the existing Go Transit corridors, the plan has evolved significantly due to other changes in the GO network and new subway projects being built in the city.
