Highways reopen from Northern California fires
The Happy Camp and Smith River complexes have left a few of the main highways connecting California to Oregon closed, but they are reopening to the public. Highway 96 reopened 8 days ago but has undergone frequent roadwork, dealing with debris and restoring road conditions, causing one-lane traffic along the state route. Highway 199 reopened this morning at 4 a.m., but only to commercial drivers.
