Finland's government is considering extending the earnings-related unemployment allowance to workers not part of any unemployment funds.
The Finnish government on Thursday announced it has decided to close the border-crossing points in Imatra, Niirala, Nuijamaa and Vaalimaa as of 18 November 2023. The closures mean applications for international protection will only be accepted on the eastern border at the more northern border-crossing points of Salla and Vartius.
The government will borrow 1.4 billion euros more than was expected as recently as in August.
Consisting of 23 items, the statement adds little to the government programme according to an expert interviewed by Helsingin Sanomat.
