Squamous cell carcinoma is the most common head and neck malignancy arising from the oral mucosa and the skin. The histologic and immunohistochemical features of oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) and head and neck cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (HNcSCC) are similar, making it difficult to identify the primary site in cases of metastases.
