Storage Burglary Victims Urged to Call Lafayette Sheriff The Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office says the suspect in a string of storage unit burglaries is now in custody, and deputies want to speak with his possible victims. Deputies say they arrested Paul Kost, Jr., after they found items reported stolen from local storage units in his home. Kost is facing multiple counts of burglary. Nearly $51 million in federal coronavirus funds will be used to fix roads, bridges, and drainage infrastructure across Lafayette Parish if Mayor-President Josh Guillory gets his way. Guillory released his plan for spending nearly $85 million in American Rescue Plan Act funds during Tuesday's special joint meeting of the Lafayette city and parish councils. The members of the councils voted to introduce the proposed ARPA budget and defer a final vote on the ordinance until August 17. Downtown Alive! Returning to Parc International In a Facebook post, DTA organizers announced the decision to return to in-person concerts starting this September. According to the post, the fall season of Downtown Alive! will begin on September 17--one day after the concert series's 38th anniversary. DTA organizers say this fall's lineup is "filled with big acts," but they did not say who those acts will be. The full lineup will be released in the coming weeks.
