This weekend is Mother’s Day. It is not just a day on the calendar, it’s the day that for that one special time each year, everyone, in some way pays honor to their mother. 
Whether you grew up calling her Mother, Mom, Mommy, Mum or some other term of endearment, taking time to chat, have lunch, dinner, visit or pay tribute to her memory.  Any one is certainly in order. 
I am very, very lucky to have my Mom here and nearby. Like many of us, I know I don’t say thank you enough for all the wonderful and selfless things she did for me growing up. I do appreciate more than ever the wonderful things she taught me, the sage advice she has given and her desire to continue to help anyone of us and support our dreams.  In particular, I deeply appreciate that she mows my lawn in summer.  ....

High prices at the pump? No problem | Something to Think About


April’s arrival and the return (we hope soon) of beautiful spring weather and the semi-return to almost familiar and normal activities should bring on travel. The increase in fuel prices likely has you, and myself, trying to figure out how I can get better gas mileage out of my car. 
To make this happen, there are seven recommendations from the folks who present “Asphalt Adventures/Valvoline”. To be truthful, I actually was researching this for myself, but thought there might be a person or two who could use one or all of these too! 
First, keep your tires properly inflated. The EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) notes that correctly inflated tires can improve gas mileage up to three percent. The suggestion that this is most important as it will not only improve the efficiency of the vehicle but create a safer driving experience.  ....
