A Sonic Tokyo 2020 skin has been revealed, showing the blue blur's official appearance in the upcoming Olympics game.

A new Sonic the Hedgehog game is in development, with Sonic Team preparing it for a 2022 launch. It will appear on consoles and PCs.

It's looking likely that the name of the new Sonic 2022 game may have been leaked as Sonic Rangers - and SEGA are the ones who leaked it.

You can catch the very brief teaser in the video below starting around 11:45.  It shows Sonic’s feet speeding through a forest. He begins to emit a blue glow and the video slows as some digital pixelization effects happen around him. The shot very quickly cuts to a sidescrolling view of Sonic as he appears to break through reality into another dimension. Finally it shows the Sonic Team logo on a stone-like background with an interesting pattern etched into it, before showing what appears to be stylized letters spelling out “zap.” 2022 then appears amongst digital effects. Sonic the Fighters was ported to GameCube and PlayStation 2 in 2005, and was later released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Lost Judgment is scheduled to be released worldwide on Sept. 24 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
