New Delhi: Zee Bangla is back with the eleventh edition of its popular dance show-
Dance Bangla Dance, with actor Govinda as one of the judges. The new season will be aired at 9:30 pm on the weekends, starting this Saturday.
Govinda will be accompanied by Bengal's icon Jeet and actress Subhashree Ganguly on the judges' panel. The show will be hosted by Ankush Hazra along with Bengali actor Vikram Chatterjee. The participants will be put under the tutelage of gurus - Om Sahani, Devlina Kumar, Rimjhim Mitra, and Soumili Biswas, all popular faces in Tollywood industry.

The 11th season of the popular Bangla dance reality show “Dance Bangla Dance” will feature Bollywood star Govinda as a judge alongside Bengali stars Jeet and Subhashree. The show premiered on May 22.

Govinda says he was drawn to the assignment owing to the energy level one gets to see among contestants of the show.

In poll-bound West Bengal, poaching politicians is passé. The newest trend is to get film stars on board. Last week, the BJP, the principal challenger to the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC), inducted Yash Dasgupta and Hiron Chatterjee, well-known actors from the Bengali film industry. Half a dozen others, including cine stars of yesteryears, took flags from BJP state president Dilip Ghosh and Kailash Vijayvargiya, the party’s minder for Bengal. The buzz now is that the BJP may rope in a few personalities who have been prominent faces in TMC programmes and campaigns.

Tollywood actor Yash Dasgupta was among nine to 10 actors and actresses who joined the BJP on Wednesday.
Although no A-lister appeared to be among the converts so far, the first such expression of solidarity from Bengal’s film and TV serial fraternity ahead of the state polls prompted the BJP to claim that it had tiptoed into the state’s cultural sphere.
“I haven’t taken this decision in a hurried manner.… The BJP is a party that lays special emphasis on the young generation. I am also young and that’s why I have joined the BJP,” said Yash, who started his career in television and debuted on silver screen with the 2016 film Gangster that also starred Mimi Chakraborty, now a Trinamul MP.

The BJP vs Trinamool battle for Bengal is promising to turn into a starry one. About a dozen actors and actresses from Tollywood - Kolkata's version of Bollywood - joined the BJP on Wednesday with just days to go for dates to be declared for the assembly polls.
Among the biggest names is Yash Dasgupta, the 35-year-old star of Bengali films and TV serials who debuted in a film called Gangster in 2016 and even won a Filmfare award for the role. Other well-known actors are Papia Adhikari and Soumili Biswas.
