Three new technological universities may be established by next year
Harris says new bodies likely in Mid-West, North-West and South-East

The number of technological universities may grow from two to five by this time next year, according to Government Ministers.
A technological university for the Midlands and the Mid-West, based on the merger of Athlone Institute of Technology and Limerick Institute of Technology, is likely to be established in September of this year.
Two more applications for technological university designation are expected in the coming months and may be in a position to secure their new status by January of next year. ....
