Tonight, Chief Boney made his final decision and put those rumors to rest.
After 37 years serving with the Biloxi Fire Department, Fire Chief Joe Boney announces his retirement from the department.
During a Biloxi City Hall meeting, Chief Boney notified the public he submitted a letter of intent to retire, this before the council went into executive session to discuss personnel issues. “A lot of deliberation talking with my family and we chose this as the best course of action. I’m ready to move on.”
After days of rumors circulating that four Biloxi Council members were not going to reappoint Fire Chief Boney, he decided retiring was the best decision for him and his family. “If some of the council does not have faith in me, I don’t want to be where I don’t have that faith. I have to work on that. I have to have that.” ....
