hello again, everyone. thank you so much for joining us, i m fred dreek with a whitfield alongside wolf blitzer in tel aviv. now to our breaking news. 13 israeli hostages are now back in israel. they were released by hamas after being abducted and held prisoner in gaza for 50 days. among those released today, dual israeli-american citizen abigail edan who is only 4 years old. she is the first american released since the four-day truce began between israel and hamas and that got started on friday. we re told 12 of the hostages were taken through the border fence directly from gaza to israel, while one was airlifted by helicopter to a hospital. an additional four foreign nationals separate from today s deal arrived in egypt earlier today. that group includes three thai nationals and a russian-israeli dual citizen. there are also celebrations in the west bank where 39 palestinian teenagers have now been released from israeli prisons as part of today s agreement. as the t ....

hello, again. thank you so much for joining us. i m fredricka whitfield in atlanta, alongside wolf blitzer in tel aviv. we re monitoring breaking news in the middle east, tense moments as families in israel await the release of a second group of hostages, who have been held by hamas for an agonizing 49 days now. and just moments ago, we learned of a diplomatic scramble happening behind the scenes, as officials from qatar, the u.s. and egypt are pushing to sort out the current situation. right now hamas says there is a delay in the handover to the red cross, the handover was expected to happen hours ago. they say there is an ongoing dispute about the amount of aid being delivered into gaza, and the selection of palestinian prisoners set to be released by israel as part of their brief four-day truce. israeli officials had told cnn that they were preparing for 13 more hostages to be released today, but so far that has yet to happen. for more, let s send it over to wolf bli ....

thank you so much for joining us. i m fredericka witfield in atlanta alongside my colleague wolf blitzer in tel aviv. breaking news, we re standing by for release of a second group of hostages held by hamas. sources tell cnn that release is being delayed in part over a dispute about the number of aid trucks entering gaza. these are live pictures from the rafah border crossing in gaza where the hostages could be transported at any moment. we re also told today s group is likely to include 13 israeli citizens, several of which are expected to be children, adding to the 24 hostages released yesterday. this exchange comes a full seven weeks after the hostages were abducted from their homes. a u.s. official says american citizens are not expected to be among those released today. 39 palestinian prisoners are set to be released as well today following the release of the israeli hostages from gaza. these exchanges are part of a four-day truce, set to expire on tuesday. wolf. ....

we are back with another hour of our special coverage of the hamas hostages being released today. i m chris jansing in new york. it was a long-awaited moment. just last hour we saw this convoy of vehicles with israeli hostages crossing into israel. just moments after they were handed over to the red cross ahead of their medical evaluations and reunions with loved ones. these are the faces of the 13 hostages, women and children who were in captivity for 49 days as young as 2 years old, as old as 85. israel is releasing palestinian prisoners in the exchange, women and teenage boys. that is part of this deal, and with aid trucks arriving today through the gaza-egypt border, the palestinian red crescent is warning of a dire situation inside gaza saying the needs of the palestinians are increasing. a u.n. spokesman in geneva weighing in as well. we hope it allows grieving families to honor their dead and bury them with dignity. and we hope that this humanitarian pause lead ....
