In October, a Connecticut jury ordered Jones and Free Speech Systems, the parent company of Infowars, to pay nearly $1 billion in damages to numerous families of victims of the Sandy Hook shooting.
Jones has laughed at the judgements on his Infowars show, saying he has less than $2 million to his name and won't be able to pay such high amounts.
Alex Jones filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, listing $1 billion to $10 billion in liabilities and $1 million to $10 million in assets.
