El Dorado Mayor Paul Choate takes his oath of office on Sunday from Judge Spencer Singleton. Other city officials including six newly and re-elected city council members, city attorney Robert Rushing and city clerk Heather McVay also took their oaths on Sunday at 2 p.m. in the council chambers at City Hall.
New county and local municipal officials were sworn in shortly after 2023 replaced 2022 on Sunday in a ceremony at the second-floor courtroom of the Union County Courthouse.
