Not only did the bitch extend her winning streak to seven but did so in a race that remembers late members of the club who made lasting contributions. Arguably no-one left a bigger imprint on the club than the late Col Byers who would have been smiling from above as his wife's greyhound of the year frontrunner did it again. The former Dubbo and Bathurst regular has been in her new kennel for seven starts now and broke her Ipswich duck in fine fashion in Tuesday's fifth grade. It was the daughter of Fernando Bale's fourth attempt over the 431 metres after contesting far tougher races in third and fourth grade company before finding her right grade. The bitch found most of her success over the short trips - the 340 metres at Bathurst and 400 at Dubbo - and did well to stretch out and last by two lengths over the 431 in a more than respectable 25.3 gallop.

He looked to be on the right track when Hyacinthus won his maiden over the five hundred at Ipswich at just 21 months in August last year. Unfortunately, the son of Barcia Bale was unable to kick on as he spent over four months off the scene battling injury, eventually returning in a tough Novice Christmas-Eve at Albion Park. While he didn't figure in the placings there or his next run over the 395 the money came thick and fast for him back at Ipswich over the five hundred on Saturday night. He didn't disappoint.

Isaac Murphy PROMISING bitch Lost in Lantana resumed in Saturday night's Novice over the 431 metre trip after a month and a half off the scene. The progeny of Thirty Talks returned with a bang straight to the front for a comfortable 25.23 victory. The win improves her record to three for three all over the track and trip winning races in consecutive weeks late October and early December before the time off.
