Kashmir weather: Despite bone-chilling conditions in the valley, a dry spell persists. Minimum temperature is lower than normal leading to freezing nights while days are warmer than usual. On Tuesday, Srinagar recorded recorded a higher maximum temperature than Jammu. Meanwhile, netizens have drawn attention to snow-less scenes in Gulmarg. Kashmir has seen a slight improvement in minimum temperatures during the 'Chilla-i-Kalan', the region's harshest winter period. Srinagar recorded a low of minus 3.3 degrees Celsius, while Pahalgam in Anantnag district recorded a low of minus 4.8 degrees Celsius. Gulmarg, the ski resort in Baramulla district, was the warmest place in the valley. The cold conditions have led to freezing of water bodies and water supply lines, forcing residents to wear extra layers of clothing.

Srinagar, Dec 9 (PTI) Srinagar experienced its coldest night of the season, with the minimum temperature settling below the freezing point at minus 4.6 degrees Celsius, officials said on Saturday.  The temperature recorded on Friday night in the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir was down more than two notches from the minus 2.4 degrees Celsius on Thursday night, they said.

IMD predicts a 2-3 degree dip in northern India's temperatures, signaling an intensification of winter. Fog is expected in Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Punjab from November 28.
