Oh, Hail. Winter Weather Set to Stay for a Few Days

The National Weather Service office in Eureka has issued a winter weather advisory for mountainous areas beginning at 1 p.m. and lasting until Wednesday, with snow at higher elevations as a front is expected to bring showers, hail and possibly a thunderstorm or two to other areas of the region.
Snow accumulations of 4 to 12 inches in areas above 2,000 feet over the next few days is likely to impact mountains roads and passes, including along state routes 299, 3 and 36, with motorists advised to carry chains.
“Travel could be very difficult to impossible,” the advisory states. “The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.”
