Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has signed Executive Order 001 of 2024 on the Safe Handling and Storage of Harmful Substances Within Oyo State. The order was signed to prevent the kind of deadly explosion that rocked the state capital, Ibadan, on Tuesday, January 16. SaharaReporters had reported that the explosion left at least five persons dead with over 70 others injured and over 50 houses burnt.

  The North-East Development Commission (NEDC), the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) and other agencies of the Federal Government under the immediate past president, Muhammadu Buhari regime, have been indicted for N3.8trillion fraud, according to a report by the Nigerian Senate. Also indicted are the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) and over 30 other Ministries, Agencies and Departments (MDAs) for mismanaging N3.8 trillion received from Service Wide Votes (SWV) in four years.
