From The Tribune staff reports OPELIKA — The Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals upheld the conviction of an east Alabama man in the murder of his girlfriend. Timothy O’Neal James, 37, was convicted of the murder of Darlene Little, in January 2020. A year later, an appeal was denied. Prosecutors said on June 10, 2017, James called the Opelika Police Department and reported Little shot herself.
