After eight seasons at Finn Park, Gareth Harkin has confirmed he's parted ways with Finn Harps. In a statement on Instagram, The 33 year old confirmed he was moving on and looking forward to his next challenge in football. He added he felt the time was right to leave as his efforts and commitment was not valued by Manager Ollie Horgan. The midfielder seen limited game time last season but was involved in the campaign run in which seen Harps secure  top flight status in the Premier Division. Full statement

The midfielder was ever present for the club last season, appearing in all of the club’s 21 games. Connolly played a major role in the club’s best finish in twenty years, scoring three goals in all competitions, including a crucial penalty to defeat St. Patrick’s Athletic 3-2 in late October. Stephen Doherty has re-signed with Finn Harps ahead of the 2021 campaign. Doherty is the second Harps academy product to be confirmed in the Senior setup for 2021, having represented the club at U17 and U19 level before penning his first pro deal in mid-2019. “I’m delighted to be back,” the midfielder told FinnHarps.ie. “Last year was very tough with everything going on but I think we really pulled together at the end and it was great to avoid a playoff.
