Stephen Richardson made eight calls to 999 in around an hour when there was no genuine emergency. The 39-year-old, of Dover Street on Walney, admitted making calls to cause annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety. South Cumbria Magistrates' Court heard it happened in the early hours of May 17. Prosecutor Lee Dacre told magistrates the defendant had shouted abuse at call handlers in the phone calls.
