Cove man pleads guilty to attempted stabbing in Killeen
A Copperas Cove man pleaded guilty this week to attempting to stab a woman last year in Killeen. Stephon Andre Barrett, 26, was indicted on Feb. 24 on a second-degree felony charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He entered a guilty plea during a livestreamed hearing in the 426th Judicial District Court on Tuesday. A sentencing hearing will be held in around six weeks, after a pre-sentence investigation report is completed, according to court discussions on Tuesday. A plea bargain has been reached in the case.
