CA acquits Baguio beautician in human trafficking raps

MANILA - The Court of Appeals (CA) has reversed the conviction of a beautician by a Baguio court on human trafficking charges for bringing in women for foreigners in a hotel in the city. In a decision dated February 18 and released Wednesday, the CA's Eleventh Division set aside the decision of the Baguio City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch against Melvin Eden, acquitting him of violating Republic Act 9208 or the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003.
