The IRS confirmed early in the month that there are some snags with the second round of COVID-19 stimulus payments.

CHICAGO -- The Federal Trade Commission has issued a warning to nursing homes about their residents' stimulus checks. The FTC wants to make it abundantly clear that the stimulus payment is meant for the individual, not the place they might live. According to the FTC, some nursing homes across the country tried taking their residents' payments and that kept some attorneys general very busy recovering those funds for people. NEW YORK (WABC) -- The latest round of $600 stimulus payments has begun to arrive either in your bank account or by mail. That will continue until the middle of the month. But with precious funds at stake, fraud isn't far behind. The Federal Trade Commission reported a whopping $211 million has been lost to COVID-19 scams and stimulus payment fraud. As the second payments are rolling out, it's time to protect your funds from a second round of fraud. Beware of unsolicited emails. The subject is "IRS relief funds claim." That's a red flag since the IRS will not email you.

There seems to be a lot more questions about the most recent round of stimulus money being distributed across the country than there were last time the feds were handing it out.

Stimulus checks have been sent out to millions of people, but many will actually be getting their payment via an economic impact payment card in an envelope from the IRS.
