TOMAH (WKBT) -- Wisconsin lawmakers are looking to rename the Tomah VA Medical Center.

The competency of a Tomah man accused of attempting to kill two people on Thanksgiving is being questioned as his attorney requests a competency exam. The man allegedly stabbed one victim and attempted to stab another during a family gathering. The first victim suffered life-threatening injuries and the accused is currently held in jail on a $500,000 cash bond.

A November 26 fire in downtown Tomah, Wisconsin, which displaced ten people, has left investigators unable to pinpoint the exact cause due to extensive physical damage. While human error and electrical malfunction have not been ruled out, the Tomah Fire Department believes the fire was not suspiciously ignited.
