Without bidding, Ministry of Defense buys satellite for R $ 175 million
The Air Force Command signed on Wednesday (30) a confidential contract with the Finnish company Iceye for the purchase of a terrestrial observation satellite valued at R $ 175 million. The contract was signed with exemption from bidding authorized by the Air Force commander, air brigadier Carlos Moretti Bermudez, alleging “national security”. Iceye satellites use SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) technology to monitor the ground.
