F-15E Strike Eagles arrived in the Middle East amid conflict between Israel and the militant group Hamas.

The Department of Defense has reportedly selected roughly 2,000 troops to prepare for a potential deployment to Israel due to the current tension in the Middle East as Israel attempts to destroy Hamas.

The Pentagon has ordered a second carrier strike group to the eastern Mediterranean Sea and is sending Air Force fighter jets to the region as Israel prepares to expand its Gaza operations, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said in a statement Saturday.

The US Central Command said on X, formerly known as Twitter, that its F-15 fighter jets arrived in the Middle East. "The 494th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron F-15E Strike Eagle aircraft arrived in the US Central Command area of responsibility to bolster the US posture and enhance air operations throughout the Middle East," it said in its statement.
