Crown witness recounts alleged historic strangling incident in murder trial
What is disputed is the intent and the defence case is that he did not intend to cause bodily injury, and wanted his wife to be quiet when she threatened him with a rape allegation. The crown witness, who has name suppression, recalled the alleged incident from about 30 years ago where she said Fallowfield threw her to the ground, sat on top of her and strangled her. The witness told the court she had struggled to breath. “I thought he was going to kill me. I thought just get it over and done with,” she said.
