Known by various aliases including Subhash Vitthal Pujari, Siddharth Shetty, Siddhu, and Johny, Pujari previously operated within the networks led by gangsters Kumar Pillai and Chhota Rajan.
Mumbai Crime Branch successfully brings back gangster Prasad Pujari from China, where he had been evading authorities since 2010. Pujari, wanted in several murder and extortion cases, including a 2020 extortion case, was arrested in Hong Kong last year. In a separate incident, NIA apprehended Mohammed Gaus Niyazi in South Africa for the 2016 murder of an RSS leader, showcasing ongoing efforts to bring criminals to justice.
