Refunds worth Rs 42,000 crore have been issued during April 1- July 9, 2023, which are 2.55 per cent higher than refunds issued during the same period in the preceding year.
The government has projected a growth of 9.6% for direct taxes in FY24. The direct tax collection so far are in line with other data that point to sustained recovery despite global headwinds.
