The Summit Foundation distributes $1.8 million to support community

The Summit Foundation has distributed more than $1.8 million in grants and funds since October to support the local community, with more than $1.5 million given out this month.
That amount includes $796,000 in the foundation’s fall grants, $145,000 in the Summit County Cares Emergency Fund fall grants and $933,000 in donor-advised fall fund distributions.
Even with the fundraising, Jeanne Bistranin, the executive director of The Summit Foundation, said in a news release that “the need for assistance will continue to rise.”
The Summit Foundation also announced in the release an additional round of grants for its 2020 grantees, which will focus on workforce assistance, stabilization support for youth and families and nonprofit organizational support.
