Syria's return to the Arab League will not affect Israel's action inside Syrian territory, according to an Israeli official. The official confirmed that his government had conveyed clear messages to the international community, stating that Syria's legitimacy would not prevent Tel Aviv from attacking it and would not affect Israel's actions. The Israeli security establishment expressed concerns about Syria's readmission into the Arab League after 12 years of suspension.

The head of the Presidential Leadership Council in Yemen, Rashad al-Alimi, decided to address the problem of tens of thousands of dismissed army, security, and civil sector servants in the southern governorates of the country. The decision aimed to settle the conditions of over 52,000 persons who were terminated from their jobs, including about 9,000 civilians. Alimi signed the reinstatement, promotions, settlements, and wage increments for 52,766 individuals compelled to vacate their positions following the civil war in 1994.

The Lebanese army said on Saturday it had arrested a prominent Al-Qaeda leader in Deir Ammar town, northeast of the city of Tripoli. It identified the arrested man only as "T.M." and said in a statement that the arrest took place on Friday. "T.M. is one of the most prominent leaders of Al Qaeda and the founder of its cells in Lebanon," it added, Reuters reported. "He has also played a key role in establishing the Fatah al-Islam organization," the statement added.
