(WWBT) - Petersburg police said a victim is fighting for their life following a shooting. Police said the shooting happened in the area of Jean Court at Summit Points Apartments on May 3. Jan 1, 2021 James Luther Harrell, 83 of Middleway passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, Dec 22, 2020 under the care of his loving wife, children, grandchildren and Hospice of the Panhandle. Born August 19, 1937 in Shepherdstown, WV he was the son of the late Raymond Luther Harrell and Helen Creamer McElroy. Jim was a lifelong resident of Jefferson County. He graduated from Charles Town High School. He joined the United States Army and served in Germany. He retired from the 3M Company after 35 years.
