Springfield addresses nuisance properties
SPRINGFIELD — The Springfield Board of Trustees took action April 27 on nuisance properties at 529 James Avenue, 1025 Onondago Trail and 1840 Orchard Trail. Trustee Dean Young stated each of the property owners has been contacted about removing items “including garbage, refuse and other debris as outlined in the township resolution dealing with nuisances.”

Concerns raised about water quality
NEW FRANKLIN — Concerns related to the recent train derailment and chemical burn in East Palestine earlier this month were raised at the Feb. 15 New Franklin City Council meeting. Resident Robin Aikey asked if the city plans to take any proactive efforts, such as local soil and water testing, in light of the accident.
