Join more than 50,000 visitors for three stages of continuous music, two community mural projects, Artist Alley featuring local artisans and crafters, food and merchandise vendors, a Seaside Family Fun Zone, Chili Cook-Off, and more. The Beachside Beer Garden will be rockin’ all day for guests 21+ to enjoy an ice-cold brew or cocktail with an ocean view. It will be located next to the main stage with live music for guests of all ages to enjoy. The Hodad’s burger eating contest and OB Dirty Birds Wing eating contest will take place mid-day on the main stage. The Seaside Family Fun Zone offers inflatables, games, The Original Rad Hatter, and a place to relax and enjoy the music. The Chili Cook-Off features awards for Hottest Chili, Judges’ Award, and the Grand Prize: People’s Choice Award. Featuring amateur and restaurant divisions, chili entries can be tasted for $2, or attendees can purchase a Master Ticket for $25 and sample every recipe to vote for their favorite. The OB Street Fair & Chili Cook-Off is Saturday, June 24, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the 4800-5000 blocks of Newport Avenue, along the waterfront. Free parking is available at the Sun Runner parking lot located on Sea World Drive at Pacific Coast Highway. Opening October 21, the SunRunner has its own dedicated lane between downtown St. Pete and St. Pete Beach, so it should run more like a train than a bus.
The 42nd Annual Ocean Beach Street Fair and Chili Cook-Off Festival returns on Saturday, June 25, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the 4800–5000 blocks of Newport Avenue, along the waterfront and in the pier parking lot. This event draws 50,000 plus people to Ocean Beach to enjoy oceanfront chili cook-off, an array of food and merchandise vendors, 3 stages of continuous music, the Community Mural Project, Artist Alley featuring local artisans and crafters, and more. The Seaside Fun Zone will offer inflatables, games and place to relax, along with a fun music area for attendees to stop by and learn to play a simple song by one of Rock & Roll San Diego’s professional musicians.Featuring 20 tasting booths in both amateur and restaurant divisions, the Chili Cook-Off tastings begin at 11 a.m. and end when contestants run out of samples. Tasting can be purchased for $2 per chili entry, with a bowl of Committee Chili for $4. If you want to try every recipe and vote for the best, you can buy a Master Ticket for $20.
