The Trishakti Corps of the Indian Army conducted a training exercise of Anti-Tank Guided Missile (ATGM) by firing at a Super High-Altitude Area of 17000ft in the north Indian state of Sikkim.
The official press release mentioned that the missile-firing detachments from Mechanised and Infantry Units of the entire Eastern Command participated in the training exercise.
Gangtok: A total of 1217 tourists, including elderly, women and children, stranded in high altitude areas of East Sikkim were successfully rescued by the troops of Indian Army’s Trishakti Corps, Defence PRO said on Thursday.
The Indian Army rescued about 3,500 tourists who were stranded at Chungthang in North Sikkim due to landslides and roadblocks, said an official release on Saturday.
