A letter from the union representing CPS administrators cites ‘culture of intimidation and fear.’

During Monday night's Board of Education meeting, Wright said the district needed more time to look at job titles, efficiencies and job duplications.

After Columbine, we remember writing a series of editorials urging schools to "harden" their campuses. No longer was America the land of Opie and Beaver. In modern America (circa late 1990s), things had to change. And if kids were bringing guns to school to slaughter each other, obstacles had to be put up. Such as locks and cameras and fences. And when new schools are built, the designs no longer could embrace the so-called "open campus" feel.

Iranetta Wright is 100 days into her new role as Cincinnati Public Schools superintendent. Here's what she's learned so far, what she wants to change.

The Little Rock School Board voted 9-0 to start negotiations with Dr. Jermall D. Wright to be its next superintendent. Then voted overwhelmingly for a conditional contract. Any overwhelming vote by a committee or board these days is nothing to sneeze at.
