KOTA KINABALU: Floods in the districts of Beaufort and Tenom saw over 5,000 victims housed in 40 shelters, with one death due to drowning was recorded at Beaufort on Sunday (May 23).
The deceased, Fairol Jisirun from Kampung Teratak, slipped into a deep end while pushing out a boat at Kampung Mantao, located five kilometres from his home.
The 21-year-old initially went there to help his brother, who owns a bird’s nest farm, to clean up the place which was inundated, said Beaufort OCPD Deputy Supt Yusof Zaki Mat Yaacob. ....
