Veteran of the Week - Jim Lowe Lew McCreary Another Veteran I met at the Honor Café event was Captain Jim Lowe. He was born January 7, 1942 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He enlisted in the Naval Reserve program in Milwaukee as a Seaman Recruit in 1961 and attained the rate of QM-3 (SS) and qualified in submarines while assigned to SUBDIV 9-227 as a student at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
