Before i sobered up, i sent the kids to school, they re going to learn something. what are they teaching you in school? that mentality. i sobered up and i was like i have a responsibility here. i remember going to the school and second grade. second grade, my daughter and i asked the teacher, do you have like a syllabus? she said no. i said could i get some of the textbooks? i want to read and i want to know where you are so i can help reinforce. she looked at me and said, mr. beck, mr. beck. we ve it go. we re okay. we re okay. we ll teach your daughter. i said excuse me, you work for me. i don t work for you. i was shocked because i thought the teacher would be happy to have somebody get their child all ready and be reinforcing it at school. but parents, most parents, because we re all busy and everything else, we think well, you ve got it. ....
