Person dies in Northland house fire Newshub 6 hrs ago A person has died in a house fire in Northland. Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) attended the blaze in Taemaro Rd, Hihi just after 10pm on Monday. A FENZ spokesperson said before crews arrived, the only person in the house was pulled out by neighbours. CPR was done - but they could not be revived and died at the scene, the spokesperson said. A fire investigator will attend the scene on Tuesday morning but it is not being treated as suspicious. It was the third fatal house fire in New Zealand on Monday. Earlier, two women died in separate blazes - one in the Bay of Plenty and the other in Hunterville. ....
