Otter Tail County Public Health director, Jody Lien, was recently honored as a recipient of the 2021 Emerging Leader Award by the Local Public Health Association (LPHA) of Minnesota.

Project would capture carbon from Fergus Falls ethanol plant and send it to be buried in North Dakota.

Since Dec. 1, 2021, the state reported an additional 32,705 COVID-19 cases, totaling 948,490 for the entire pandemic, a 32% increase over the previous week. Also, 292 new deaths were reported by the state in the last seven days, 92 more than last week, totaling 9,774 for the entire pandemic. Currently, Becker County reported 142 active cases, an increase of 2 active cases since Dec. 1. Otter Tail and Clay Counties each reported 5 new COVID-related deaths this week. Statewide COVID-19 data is not being released on Saturdays and Sundays.
