Rock bands, DPP bigwigs rally for Freddy Lim in recall

Independent Legislator Freddy Lim (林昶佐) held a final rally last night calling on residents of Taipei’s Wanhua District (萬華) to vote “no” in today’s recall.
Rock band Sorry Youth (拍謝少年), rapper Dwagie (大支) and ballad singer Michael Shih (施文彬) performed outside Longshan Temple (龍山寺) at the rally hosted by Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) legislators Rosalia Wu (吳思瑤) and Tsai Yi-yu (蔡易餘).
Vice President William Lai (賴清德) told the crowd that Lim is highly rated by civic groups for his legislative performance.

<strong>The choice voters face</strong>
Upon reading the articles “Lim laments dirty politics in recall vote” (Dec. 30, page 3) and “By-election campaign heating up” (Jan. 1, page 3), and in general critique of tomorrow’s two votes in Taipei and Taichung: What kind of politicians do Taiwanese deserve?
Those who diligently serve their constituents, or those who serve their self interests and personal wealth?
If it is the former, then why do responsible, high-achieving politicians such as independent Legislator Freddy Lim (林昶佐) have to face recalls? If it is the latter, do people want to live in areas ruled by the mafia-like family of ....
