Juvenile Centre Opening Delayed
The completion date for the Luganville Juvenile Facility has been shifted from the end of February to the end of March 2021, Acting Director of the Vanuatu Correctional Services Jask Carlo confirmed. According to Mr Carlo, the private contractor that won the tender for the project, KT Enterprise (Kim Tan), stated that progress was delayed due to shortage of manpower, technicalities in the design and the recent weather conditions. The juvenile centre planned for Santo is a first in the country and part of the larger decentralization concept by the Vanuatu correctional services and government. ...
