Swedish miner Boliden is all set to reopen its Tara zinc mine in Ireland after reaching a deal with worker's unions and local management to reduce expenses.
It will cost €1m a week to keep Tara Mines in so-called ‘care and maintenance’ as long as the giant complex is not producing zinc, the mine’s Swedish owner Boliden said on Friday.
Parent company Boliden is in disagreement with the Government over a flooding incident at Tara Mines in 2021.
