That’s the warning tagline that comes with each new character poster for  The Suicide Squad, James Gunn‘s upcoming comic book movie for Warner Bros., which follows up David Ayer’s 2016  Suicide Squad. And it’s easy to see why: it’s in the title, and in the name of the team, made of up DC Comics rogues sent on dangerous missions by Amanda Waller ( Viola Davis) and they’re not expected to survive. A new and extended synopsis has been revealed for James Gunn's upcoming DCEU soft reboot The Suicide Squad.

It seems that “creative control” is the name of the game for superhero movies at the moment. Yesterday we heard how Chloé Zhao was able to make Eternals out of a “different DNA” than the rest of the Marvel universe, and today we find James Gunn praising Warner Bros. for staying hands-off on The Suicide Squad. The director, in response to a question about his creative control of the film, also revealed that The Suicide Squad is completely finished and ready to go. #TheSuicideSquad is fully finished and cut and I made every single choice and they never once even slightly interfered....

The Suicide Squad reads as follows: Welcome to hell—a.k.a. Belle Reve, the prison with the highest mortality rate in the US of A. Where the worst Super-Villains are kept and where they will do anything to get out—even join the super-secret, super-shady Task Force X. Today’s do-or-die assignment? Task Force X has a new mission, and one that is revealed in The Suicide Squad’s freshly-released synopsis. Warner Bros. and DC Films has released the official logline for the comic book sequel, which is set to release on August 6th. The synopsis reads: Welcome to hell — a.k.a.
